Most accurate weather app around!!
It helped me find out about the weather a lot and more people should buy it it is awesome
PROS ◾️Channel 7 weather forecast available 24/7 (with commercials-thats understandable). ◾️Live reporting is full screen on iPhone 5/5s ◾️Interactive radar. ◾️5 & 7 day forecasts. ◾️Slider control for background tracking. CONS ◾️Ads at bottom of screen. Im already watching ads during the live forecast. ◾️Using my location, the app places me in downtown Dayton. Im in Miamisburg, 40 minutes away. Every other weather app I have places me correctly. ◾️A $4.99 in-app purchase for alerts I dont need. SUMMARY Its a decent app. Its prime feature is the live weather reporting. As the ad points out, when cable goes out, you still have the app. There is a tornado watch for the Miami Valley as I am writing this. Ch. 7 is on top of it; its a good idea to have this in your pocket.
I upgraded to IOS 8, and now this app will not work. I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling but still crashes every time.....its not like they didnt realize that the operating system was going to be updated, come on fellas, get on the ball. iPad 3 with 32 gigs of memory.
Upgraded to ios8 and the app will no longer work
Since the Apple Upgrade this App wont. Come on WHIO upgrade your App so it be used again.
This is the 1st app I always open when having my morning coffee. Glad its working, again.
...but since the upgrade, I cant see the hourly forecast.
It is a good app but the most recent update took away the hourly report. What happened?
It wont let me download the new update, 1st time this ever happen! :( please help! :)
Great app, up to the minute and user friendly. Is the hourly a hack by J. Simpson? Thanks WHIO
This app will keep you GPS on at all times and drain your battery. It should be programmed to only use GPS while the application is in use. Once you fix that I will download again.
Since downloading the newest version, I cannot open the hourly forecast feature.
I find this app very disappointing in that its difficult to navigate and poorly laid out. I prefer several others to this app, as they give much more information and details. Some are actually interactive. I had hoped WHIOs app would offer so much more... specially since its local.
Pretty good weather app. Could use some improvements though. the ads are also pretty annoying
I had deleted this app because I wasnt getting the warnings. I reinstalled the app this morning and I got my weather warnings (4-8-2015). The app now appears in the locations services area and that was the problem.
Need to change the app setting to where it only uses my location while Im using the app. I hate apps that use my location in the background. I deleted it before because of this very reason! It drains my battery when I have to leave the location on. Only downloaded it again for the weather moving in tonight. After which I will delete again!
The previous version of WHIOWeather was fine. It wasnt *great* per se, but aside from having to tap the "<" chevron a few times to see the basement menu, there werent huge problems. The newest version, however, is full of them. The main forecast screen is so visually busy that its hard to parse anything. While having the current forecast video front and center (not to mention, actually in the app) is nice, having the current hosts bust be 25% of the screen is a downright awful decision for any iPhone screen size. Rich and Eric and everyone else are great meteorologists, but currently, Im having flashbacks to Clippy in Microsoft Word. Likewise, while the interactive radar is much better, the Live Doppler 7 HD stream (and I assume 7 Weather Now stream as well) ALWAYS having an ad auto-play is insulting and a dangerous decision when it comes to trying to determine where storm cells/lines are ASAP (since the interactive radar is still not an actual live radar). The ads at the bottom of the screen were bad enough, but fine, free app = ads. But I literally just got redirected to Trivagos app store page, which never happened in the previous version. While the layout could honestly stay the same, please at least remove the auto-play ads at the beginning of the livestreams. 7Weather Now already has ads on it, and the app is the only way to view the live radar livestream. Ive honestly gone back to the previous version, and I hope the current version is fixed by the time the previous version is deactivated, similar to how the previous WHIONews app supposedly doesnt work anymore. Im sorry for the long, negative review, but this updates is so disappointing. Stormcenter 7 is the only local weather team I respect and trust, and I honestly expect a better app to reflect their work.
The WHIO weather app has been greatly improved in this release. Its contents are better organized. Its graphics and layout are much improved. The design of the radar is better, less confusing. Access to WHIO feeds on Facebook and Twitter are retained, a big plus in this app as it means that you can use it to get traffic updates as well. And, of course, you can still specify multiple locations in addition to your "current" location. This version of the WHIO Weather app is well worth the download.
